How to Market Your Website Online

So many internet marketers want to know the correct way of how to market your website. There are a lot of answers, and a lot of different methods that you can use to get traffic. Ever wonder why there are so many ebooks on how to make money on the internet available? Simply because there are so many different ways to generate traffic.

One of the most important aspects of driving traffic to your website is to know where your traffic is coming from. The first step that I always take after creating a website is to set up a tracking system. One relatively easy web based tracking system is Google Analytics. Google Analytics has all kinds of charts and you can see where your traffic is coming from, along with the keywords your website is ranking for. You can add as many websites as you choose, and the interface is super simple.

Another fast method to drive website traffic is to use PPC (Pay Per Click) marketing. This method of marketing is not free. I would strongly suggest only using the big 3 search engines when you are starting out. Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and Microsoft AdCenter are the main places for PPC. Google Adwords is someone complicated to use, and set up takes a long time. I recommend getting expert advice before you begin an Adwords campaign, as charges add up fast. Yahoo Search Marketing, and Microsoft Adcenter are much easier to set up, and you can start out slow without worrying about losing your shirt.

Most often, I market my websites using free methods. I enjoy article marketing, SEO, and creating Web 2.0 properties. It is often very time consuming, but the payoff is generally worth it. Some affiliate marketers tend to outsource a lot of this work, and that is also a very good idea once you begin to have extra revenue.

You have to be a determined internet marketer to succeed. As with any other profession, there is work involved. If you are willing to find the answers that work for you, you are bound to succeed.

Hi Ron, another great post. I have read some great posts on your blog. A lot of people are put off with PPC marketing though provided they put a ceiling on their spending and ensure they calculate their conversion rates this can still be a profitable way of marketing a business. Keep up the good work. Aly
