I have subscribed to PRL sites and also filled surveys. However I never made money that justified the effort I had put into these enterprises.

The very first thing you need to do is to sign up to Amazon’s affiliate program. It is completely free and you get instant approval (just Google Amazon Affiliate Program). You will be asked to provide details of one of your websites during the sign up process. Don’t worry if you don’t have one – use any website on the Internet that looks decent and offers valuable information.

The next thing we need to do is to choose a bunch of products that we want to promote. If you don’t know Amazon.com is the largest online store with annual revenue for 2008 of 5.5 billion dollars. It means that whatever item you can think of Amazon probably has it. Now you know why it is that hard to pick products to promote. Fortunately Amazon is here to help us with that – it provides a list of the 100 best selling items in each category.

You just have to click on any of the categories on the left on the main page of Amazon and you will see instantly the top 10 bestselling products. Scroll to the bottom of the list and click See All Bestsellers in (the name of the category). Click it and you will see the Top 100 bestselling items for that particular category. That is pure gold. Amazon tells us what their best selling items are – we just have to promote them – it is so simple and it works like a charm. So how do we promote them?

Luckily it is very simple as well. The truth is that there are websites that Google loves. Whatever you put on them it hits the front pages of the search engines in a matter of days. One of these websites is Squidoo.com. Posting on it is completely free. You need to create an account and start posting.

What to post? It is a good question. Amazon allows its customers to post reviews about the items they have bought. It is a sea of useful info. All you have to do is to read the first page of reviews and write a 300 words post. It will be difficult and time consuming in the beginning but the more you practice – the less time you will need to come up with one. I usually need about 15 minutes to craft a decent review.

After you have written a review for a product you want to promote you have to post on Squidoo. Within a few days it should hit the first page. Keep in mind that writing oe review won’t cut it. You need to write as many as you can to see the money coming.
