The content and the text that is placed on your web sites pages are considered to be On Page SEO. This technique is used for editing your page and it?s content to be searchable in the search engines when a web surfer is trying to find a topic that relates to your website.
On Page SEO otherwise known as On Page search engine optimization was being used since the beginning of the search engines. The technology was simple at first as the World Wide Web not nearly as large as it is now. With the World Wide Web growing larger it has became more tedious for search engines to tell one site from the next. A Search on ?Bananas? could bring back as many as a million+ pages that have used the word ?Banana? on their sites pages. The more recent technology of Off Page SEO has started to push On Page SEO out since now the search engines and the World Wide Web have grown to its enormous size.
On Page SEO is in place to make sure your website and its pages are as search engine friendly as they can be. If your website is not optimized for keyword searches you will not have very good results with the major search engines. You should ensure that your website is properly indexed by the major search engines for optimal performance. You need at least one link for each of your sites that will take the user to another page or site. Unique and original content is a must for each and every page.
The meta tags need to be arranged correctly with your page title tags and the description tags should be describing the content of your pages. You need to make sure that page title tags are no more than 68 characters and the descriptions tags are no more than–8 characters but have more detail. Label all the different headers on your pages with H tags. Web page URLS should be SEO friendly as well using mod re-write for Linux and Apache hosting for IIS redirect for Windows. Ideally try to ensure that your URLS describe your pages content with as much detail as allowed.
The pages links should be complete as well as checked often for any dead links. Descriptive URLS should be used for images that are placed on your site instead of numbers or other non-descriptive characters. All images must be labeled with descriptive alt attributes.
Anchor texts links should be used within your page to redirect the page traffic to other websites. If you are selling lingerie then you should place anchor links in the text lingerie where the word appears throughout your site. Check that only one version of your site is active. Redirect All non www. URLS appropriately.
Page Rank should not be wasted on sites that are not needed for search engine optimization. You need to use the rankings for pages that you believe will drive in the most traffic. Use the rel=?nofollow? tag in the pages not needed for Page Rank. You can also use this tag for pages that you do not trust or do not want to aid in the search engine results.
Be sure you have good code that the search engines can read properly. The W3C validator can be used for checking your markup. Follow these simple steps for On Page SEO and you should have good results in the search engines as well as good rankings for your page.
