A lot of SEO beginners, and even a number of professionals, continue to commit the same mistakes when they attempt to employ SEO, thereby making it more difficult for them to get the results that they wish for their site’s page ranking.

Keywords that are immaterial or incorrect: You cannot expect often used keywords to drive people to your website if they aren’t pertinent to the website’s written content, but many people still do this. You may be able to generate traffic using this form of method, but since you aren’t offering pertinent subject matter based on your keyword, people visiting your website will just end up leaving merely because you aren’t supplying any written content that they are seeking. You are in reality getting visitors that is not even interested in your website or its content, so you just end up with zilch.

Overuse of keywords~Keywords that are overused: Using the keywords to frequently in the subject matter of your website, the title, header and meta tags is One Other error that a great many people make. Improving a websites ranking this way doesn’t work as clogging a website with keywords doesn’t fool the search engines the least bit. Search engines view this sort of behavior as ‘spamming’ and if you do be ready to pay the supreme price – blackballing from the search engine’s index is the result.

Good or relevant content missing: People are driven to go to your site with the keywords that you have preferred, but it’s your website’s written content that they will be looking for. So, make sure that whatever keywords you have preferred to employ, those keywords will direct them to relevant web content in your website. Take the time to write good and relevant content in order to make certain that your website would continue to do well against others offering the same thing. Remember that the only way that you are able to get your website to stand out against other sites would be your website’s written content.

Too many graphics: At the moment search engines view textual subject matter to see it’s relevance so if you have a graphic intensive website you will be forfeiting your ranking in the index as it doesn’t mean much to the web spiders that are crawling it, irrespective of how good they are. Since search engines aren’t programmed to look for graphics, they may bypass your website, giving it a lower page ranking. Learn to avoid these SEO errors, and you should be able to do a whole lot better than others.

I agree! Overuse of keywords can have two negative effects on the success of your website: 1) Search engines know what you are doing and may penalize you for it; and 2) Search engines are not your target market – people are. If you write for people, people are more likely to find value in what you wrote, recommend what your wrote to a friend, and come back again to see what else you wrote.
