SEO Content Writing – Converting Artificial Keywords Into Natural Keywords.
Keywords and SEO.
The use of keywords throughout a website is one major part of search engine optimization (SEO). Most often the actual density (amount of times that phrase occurs) and the placements of them are hot topics that are often talked about. The fact that keywords play a large role in SEO is a proven fact, however due to google and the other search engines changing their algorithm constantly it can seem difficult to keep up with the trends. However luckily for you there are always factual guideline that you can follow and approach SEO successfully.
Keeping One Step In Front Of The Search Engines.
Ok, Im not trying to say you can actually see in the future and know what google or any of the other search engines are going to do or change so that you can get top spot’s every single time, but instead teach you the rules that you should not break in term’s of SEO. If you do break them then google will both ignore your content but also can actually go as far as penalizing you too.
Spam – The Big NO!
Do you like getting junk and spam email in your inbox or through your door? nope didn’t think so and nor does google either! When search engines first began it use to be ‘acceptable’ to just have hundreds or thousands of keywords all over your website and no useful text at all, otherwise known as keyword stuffing. However fortunately now that is not the case at all and any website who uses keyword stuffing will face a big penalty. Ok yep keywords are important but you also have to make sure the visitor enjoys coming to your site.
So, What Is The ‘Correct’ Keyword Density Then?
Of course, this leads to the question of how to determine what is considered spam and what is considered an acceptable level of keywords within your text and again this is a topic that leads to debate between SEO experts, webmasters and content writers alike. The general belief was that including a keyword within your text with a range of 5% to 10% was best practice. It certainly wouldn’t get you penalized and it made it blatantly obvious that your site was relevant to that topic. However, some believed the figure could legitimately be taken as high as 20% without any negative search engine effects.
Warning!
Having a keyword density of 20% or even higher is really not all that natural (unless you actually just can’t write or think of an alternative phrase to use every so often too). It is considered as trying to find a loophole in the search engine to get ranked higher, but the search engines job and what they work 24/7 on is to provide the best content for it’s users and if your using the keyword 20% or more then in their eyes you are really trying to gain the system. So keep it at a max of around 10% and you will see success for a long time.
Playing By The Rules.
It may seem strange at first to try and include your keyword a certain number of times but generally if you are writing an informative article for your user and just including your keyword in every so often to please the search engines then you will find that 5 to 10% is a very normal occurrence and not difficult to achieve. Make your content appeal to both of these and you will be good!
What Are Natural Keywords And Artificial Keywords?
When you are writing an article or any content for a website then you will notice that as you are writing you keep repeating the same phrase or word’s over and over again throughout the article, these are your natural keywords. However normally when you are just writing on a subject the keywords that you keep repeating are usually the ones with the higher competition even if they have alot more searches. The alternative is to do some keyword research before and choose keywords to use that are longer but have less searches and less competition so getting those top spots and the search engine traffic is made a lot easier.
Replacing The Natural With The Artificial Keywords.
It’s normally alot easier to re-write an article and that is exactly what you are going to now do. Simply go through and replace that natural keyphrase with the artificial longer version and then make a few more edits to make sure it flows correctly for the reader.
Starting Again With Your Artificial Keyword.
Re-writing an article can be annoying sometimes when the original natural and the artificial keywords are on different perspectives or just generally different to the natural keyphrase. That is that is becomes hard work to replace them afterwards. So instead get the artificial keyword first and then write an article based around that keyphrase, then once you have finished you will notice that is actually occurs naturally throughout the article.
Keyword Conversion Results.
Converting your artificial keywords into the natural keywords will mean that your pages are both built for the search engines and will give you top rankings but also are built for your readers too. This will increase both your traffic and the conversion rates of that traffic and result in an increase in your income too.
